Who we are

In 1971 a branch of Co.As.It began operating in Wollongong. In July 1984 an incorporated organization was established under the Companies (NSW) Code and began operating as Italian Social Welfare Organisation of Wollongong (It.So.Wel). It is directed by a voluntary Board of Management which is elected annually. The majority of the Organisation’s services are funded by a combination of State and Federal Government grants, fees from service recipients and fundraising activities.

The Italian Social Welfare Organisation of Wollongong (It.So.Wel) is committed to delivering a range of culturally and linguistically appropriate services that empower the community to increase their quality of life, and the promotion of Italian culture, language
and heritage.
